Join us for the 1st annual Blue Mountain Metric Century on June 19th, 2010 and cycle in support of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Whether you are looking for the ease of the Mechanicsburg Meander (10 mi.), the scenery of the Dillsburg Quarter Century (25 mi.), the challenge of the Cumberland Valley Half Century (50 mi.) or the bragging rights of the Blue Mountain Metric Century, this ride has something to offer every level of cyclist. You’ll have the time of your life as you bike along the rural roads and beautiful mountains of the Cumberland Valley.
Riders will depart from the Mechanicsburg High School (500 S Broad St., Mechanicsburg, PA) between 7:30 – 10 a.m. This supported ride will include four, staffed rest stops (in addition to the Start/Stop) to provide riders with a place to relax and refuel. Various cycling mechanics will also be stationed along the route. A professional photography will be set-up at the Mechanicsburg high school from 7:30 to 10 a.m. to take individual and group photos.
Event registration for the 2010 Blue Mountain Metric Century is $25 and must be completed by June 12th (registration will increase to $35 on June 13th). Be one of the first 100 registrants to sign-up and receive a commemorative Blue Mountain Metric Century water bottle. All riders will receive an inaugural event t-shirt and can purchase an event jersey for $80.
Please note: All riders are expected to wear helmets, obey safety rules and be considerate of motorists and other cyclists. Riders MUST be 14 years old or older and those under 18 years of age must have written consent from a legal parent or guardian. In addition, all emergency services and road support will be suspended at 4 p.m.
MDA is a voluntary health agency aimed at conquering neuromuscular diseases that affect more than a million Americans. It was founded in 1950 by adults with muscular dystrophy and parents of children with the disease.
